When pyschologist Nicole Hall had her first baby she had no idea what to do with it. But what started out as journal of her baby’s feeds and nappies soon turned into a memoir.

Night or day, while her baby fed, she scribbled out notes about her experiences and what resulted was Diary of a First-time Mum, An Uncensored Account of all the Stuff that Really Happens.

Nicole tells Katrina Roe about the changes she wasn’t prepared for, like having to always consider the needs of another little person.  And her advice for expecting mothers?  Trust your instincts and spend as much time as you can with other mothers and babies before you have your own.
