We’ll be starting by sharing a delicious morning tea together before settling into some ‘meaty’ teaching from Joan. Come join us!

Casual sex or sacred sexuality? Our bodies and relationships under God – Newtown

The sexualisation of society is not new. But the untethering of sex from all relational foundations has posed new problems. No longer is sex only between a man and a woman. It now has many variations, and we cannot hide from how sex is translated amongst different groups of people.

Christians may not engage in these practices, but they are still immersed in the same cultural space. Our ideas of sex and sexuality can easily be shaped and changed by the world around us. How do we engage these topics in this new cultural space? How do we cling to what God in his word says is good for sex and sexuality?

Youth Group Ration Challenge 2024

In 2024, Act for Peace invites church leaders to help young people put their faith into action by leading the Ration Challenge in their youth group.

By living on rations for three days, your youth group will experience just one small part of what it’s like to live as a refugee. Not only will they be putting their faith into action, but by eating rations and raising money, they’ll be making a meaningful impact in the lives of refugees and people who have been displaced.

With more than 114 million people affected by displacement – it’s more important than ever to be able to provide this opportunity for fundraising and empathy-building to Australian Churches and their future generations.
