Sexualisation of children in a pornified world and what we can do about it – with Melinda Tankard-Reist

This seminar will help young women dissect negative cultural messages and rise up to make a difference. Melinda will take your young women on a tour of media and popular culture in a dynamic, multivisual presentation.

Church Event: Our Hope – The Solid Rock – St Marys

Hear the good news that the Biblical account of origins is not only historically accurate but makes better sense of the evidence. Evolution as taught in schools and universities implies there is no need for God – everything made itself – the Bible gives a very different picture about our origins.

Jim Whitehall has worked in the development of biomedical and speech recognition systems and is a Principal Solution Integrator in a large multinational. Jim returned to university part-time specifically to study areas of science relevant to Creation Ministries and presents this in a visual easy to understand way.

Church Event: DVD presentation – Bligh Park

You’re invited to the screening of “Radioactive Dating and a Young Earth – How nuclear physics supports the Bible’s timeframes”. SMBC Hot Topics – ‘Rest and Sleep’ – Middleton Grange

Life can be wearisome. What is sleep, and what is rest, according to the Bible? Mark Stephens, who lectures in Biblical and Integrative Studies at Excelsia College, will unpack Scripture’s foundational theological ideas about rest in the present, in the future, and some redemptive implications of the question. He will help equip us to critique biblically our own assumptions and practices as incessantly busy (and perhaps rest-deprived) Christians in a restless culture.
