With winter approaching it’s that time of year when we need to think about the upcoming flu season. 

Last year there were a few problems with the flu vacccine for chlildren under five, which resulted in the vaccine being withdrawn for children of that age.  So does that mean parents should be more cautious about giving their kids the flu vaccine this year?  How can we be sure it’s safe?

Professor Anne Kelso is the Director of the WHO Colloborating Centre for Reference and Research on Influenza.  She explains the pros and cons of having a flu vaccine.
