Lenore Skenazy has created a storm of controversy on her recent visit to Sydney. Tagged ‘America’s worst Mom’ after she let her nine year old son catch the subway home by himself, Lenore suggests that parents loosen the reigns on their children’s lives.
She believes most children are overprotected and not given enough freedom to develop into independent and resourceful people. She argues that the world is no more dangerous than it was 30 or 40 years ago but the media has created the perception that child predators are just waiting to pounce on your child.
