The whole world was excited at the announcement of the royal baby, Prince George. But less than 24 hours later, the pressure was on for Kate to lose weight. OK magazine in the UK released a special issue dedicated to Kate’s supposed weight loss program, including an exclusive ‘Duchess Diet and Shape-up Plan!’ OK magazine has since issued an apology, but the fact remains that celebrities are always under the spotlight after giving birth.

In recent years, celebrity mums Miranda Kerr, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears have all featured on magazine covers showing off their perfectly trim post-baby bodies. But for real-life Mums, who don’t have the help of dietitians and personal trainers, getting back to ‘normal’ takes time, if ever.
In response to the OK issue, British radio and television presenter Katy Hill bucked the trend by posting a photo of herself two months after giving birth, proudly showing off her less than perfect post-pregnancy tummy. She tweeted, “News Mums. If the OK Magazine cover has made you feel bad, here’s me 2 months post baby. YOU MADE A HUMAN!’
