Careers after 50 – opportunties available for older people

Gone are the days when turning 60 meant retiring sometime soon and living out the rest of your days on the golf course.  These days people are staying in the workforce longer and learning new skills later in life.  But unfortunately, those who are a little older can be overlooked for training and career development opportunities.

Margaret Aspin is the Managing Director of the Aspin Group and she says there is significant financial support available from the government for businesses who invest in training or re-traiing people over 50.  She also says that businesses need to recognise the unique skills, experience and maturity that older people can offer.
