This is what the Lord says: Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts, boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 9:12-24(NIV)
Key reflections:
- Knowing God is the greatest thing we can achieve in life. It’s what we’re made for.
- By spending time with God, whether in prayer, reading the Bible or in listening, the stronger and deeper our relationship with Him will be.

We live in a world that celebrates success: careers, education, money, popularity. But God reminds us that none of these things really define us.
The greatest thing we can ever achieve is to truly know Him. That’s what He wants most. God created us because He wants us to be part of His family. Forever.
Think about it. Who do we usually know best in life? Our family. Why? Because we spend the most time with them. We laugh with them, cry with them, and do life together. Over time, generally speaking, that closeness builds deep understanding and love.
It’s the same with God, and it’s not rocket science. The more time we spend with Him: reading His Word, talking to Him in prayer, listening for His voice, the more we begin to know Him. Really know Him.
Billy Graham nailed it when he said, ‘Nothing is more exciting than knowing God and discovering His plan for our lives.’
Knowing about God isn’t the same as knowing God. He is all about relationship. One that grows as we spend time with Him. At the end of the day, that’s what matters most. Not what we own or achieve, but how well we know the One who made us, loves us, and wants to be with us forever.
Billy Graham nailed it when he said, ‘Nothing is more exciting than knowing God and discovering His plan for our lives.’
