Faithful in the Turbulence

Many years ago, on a flight, we started experiencing some strong turbulence. I hate turbulence, so I tightened my seatbelt and prayed for safety and not to throw up. What I didn’t do was march up to the pilots and tell them how to fly the plane. Aside from knowing nothing about planes, I trusted that they knew what they were doing.

Many of us place our lives in the hands of others regularly. Getting on a train or in a taxi, getting medical treatment, or literally placing our bodies on an operating table. So, if we can trust in a person’s training or experience, how much more can we trust God?

We can remind ourselves that He’s a God of His Word and He knows best. He can be trusted when the world is shaky and grey.

Throughout God’s Word, we’ve seen over and over that He’s faithful. He’s trustworthy and true. He’s shown us His unconditional love by sending Jesus to die for us. His heart towards us is good, and His plans for us are for our good and for His glory.

Faith is having confidence in what we can’t see. When we experience life’s turbulence, we can trust that the God who spoke the world into being is with us. We can trust that God is good and faithful even when we can’t see or hear Him. We can remind ourselves that He’s a God of His Word and He knows best. He can be trusted when the world is shaky and grey. It’s having the confidence that God will not leave us but will lovingly guide us through each and every season.

No matter how uncertain life may be right now, can I encourage you to trust in God’s goodness and love, knowing that He is with you?
