Australian singer Gary Pinto loves to share his passion for what makes him who he is.

“God is my life,” Gary told Hope Mornings in the lead up to his one-night only performance at Sydney Opera House on Friday, September 2.

The member of R&B outfit CBD and music mentor on The X Factor and Australian Idol, Gary’s latest work is a tribute album to the “King of Soul”.

Sam Cooke: The Music showcases Gary’s versions of tracks which he said were instrumental to him as an artist.

From Cooke’s inspiring A Change Is Gonna Come to earlier gospel gems (Touch the Hem of His Garment, Jesus Gave Me Water), Gary has been able to combine his passion for Jesus with his passion for legendary soul.

As Gary told Hope Mornings, the album and Sydney Opera House show offer him the opportunity “to give glory to God for the gifts he has given me”.

He also shared about Jimmy Barnes introducing him to the soul stirring songs which Sam Cooke began his career with.
