In this episode of Money: Faith & Finance, listener Sherrin sent in a question for Pete and Ben that you’ve probably also been wondering about. Good on you, Sherrin. The question has to do with savings goals and pay rises.
As Ben and Pete discuss, Sherrin’s household budget and expenses are at a pinch point where it’s tough to save for important things like flights to visit overseas family. But if Sherrin and her husband just get better paying jobs, that will solve their predicament. Right? Surprise! It’s not as simple as that, as Pete breaks down in take-home detail.

2. Real Hope – The Lord is with you
Our prayer for Real Hope – The Podcast is that it will be a great encouragement to you as you listen each day. And that, for those in your world who are doing it tough, it might be a timely window into a world illuminated by the real hope that is found in Jesus.
In this episode of Real Hope, Heidi considers the story of Joseph in Genesis 37–50, which teaches us how to live a pure life, resist temptation, stay true through trials, have mercy, look beyond our circumstances, and to learn to see God’s presence with us, even in the midst of great suffering in our lives. The story of Joseph reveals that the worst conditions possible may not be final; that we should never lose hope and judge our own life, or others, by one season; that God can use seemingly hopeless situations to change the story; that His plan may not be obvious to our limited perspective but, indeed, ‘… all things work together for good… for those who are called according to his purpose’ (Romans 8:28 NKJV).
