United, Live On The Morning Show

The appearance of the Billboard chart toppers on Aussie TV follows a recent performance on America’s Today Show. For Sydney audiences they performed their song, Touch The Sky, before chatting to hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies.

Despite 16 million albums sold to date, singer Taya Smith described the band as “just Aussie kids” from a local church, while Jonathan Douglass said “we’re just doing what we love”.

United’s new album Empires was launched on Tuesday, May 26.

For something completely different, the official ‘launch’ was conducted in outer space. Watch the video:

Hope’s Laura Bennett interviewed Jonathan Douglas ahead of the album release. Jonathan spoke about the new set of songs, as well as the soon-to-be-released movie, Let Hope Rise. The film, directed by Michael John Warren, chronicles the band’s journey from local church band in the Hills district of Sydney, to global phenomenon.
