Having a 9-5 job that pays the bills and lets you use your creative passion would be a dream come true for many of us. For Event Director Jacob Leung, playing host to thousands for church conferences and managing teams of hospitality staff has fed his drive, but it’s his new food project that’s really tantalising his taste buds.

Building on experience as a commercial food stylist and recipe developer, Jacob Leung has always had a love for food which he’s taken to the next level launching his first cookbook, ‘Jacob Food’.

“On the 1st of January,” says Jacob, “I thought, ‘what am I going to do this year?’ – ‘I’m going to do a cookbook.’ I’ve got a job 9-5 Monday to Friday but wanted something more to stick my teeth into. Literally.”

Featuring recipes around ‘occasions’, ‘Jacob Food’ includes recipes intended to gather people and as Jacob says, to impress the ladies:

“I’ve got a whole chapter for date night’, he says. “I’m thinking predominantly for the guys; you want something [simple] to impress your spouse …So we’ve got caramelised mango, meringue, spaghetti bolognaise with a twist, things you can do simply, but really well.”
