Meet the team

Anita Savage

Hope News Director
Anita Savage is a highly experienced broadcast journalist. With over three decades in the industry, Anita was asked to pioneer a news service for Hope in 2019, where she can be heard reading the news on weekday mornings.

Prior to joining Hope, Anita was a news reader and senior journalist at ABC TV and Radio. This included national and state-wide broadcasts, and specialist medical, business and local news reporting. Anita was a contributor to the book Pandemedia, which details media professionals’ experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Anita has also been a presenter and reporter on the Nine Television Network, appearing on programs including the news, Today, and The Small Business Show. Her experience also entails working as a foreign correspondent in the USA, the Washington DC correspondent for a US Television network, and Bloomberg Television’s first international anchor in New York. Anita started Bloomberg TV’s news service for the Asia-Pacific. She’s also anchored headline news for CNN in New York and had roles on Sky News Australia, 2UE and 2CH, among others.

Anita uses her experience to coach and mentor journalists across Australia. She was the recipient of a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship and an undergraduate scholarship to study overseas. Anita has a Master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University, USA, and a BA (Communications) from Charles Sturt University.

Sarah Profile

Sarah Wiedersehn

Radio Journalist
Sarah Wiedersehn is an experienced, multi-platform journalist. She has worked in Australian commercial media for more than 20 years, with roles in radio, TV and print newsrooms.

Before joining Hope Media in 2019, Sarah worked at 7NEWS in Sydney as a digital journalist. She began her career as a radio journalist in Wollongong and quickly progressed to TV and worked as a TV presenter and producer at Southern Cross Ten in Canberra. Sarah later took on a role as a reporter and newsreader at Sydney’s 2GB, before moving into print journalism — working for the national wire agency Australian Associated Press. Sarah’s roles at AAP included National Medical Correspondent and Chief of Staff on the Entertainment Desk. Sarah has also worked at SBS and was as an Editor at Australian Doctor.

Sarah’s love for radio all began at fellow Christian radio station 94.1FM, where she solely established a local news service for the community. You can now hear Sarah reading the news on Hope 103.2 from 1pm to 6pm, Monday through to Friday.

Jefferson, Hope News journalist

Jefferson Shaw

Journalist
Jefferson Shaw began his journalism career at Hope Media after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and English from Avondale University on the NSW Central Coast.

He undertook his cadetship at Hope 103.2, before becoming the station’s first reporter. Since then, he’s covered a range of local, national and international news stories.

Jefferson began his reporting with the 2019-20 bushfires, followed closely by the daily NSW government and health press conferences during the COVID-19 pandemic. He stepped aboard the campaign bus for the 2023 NSW State Election and he has extensively covered the movements of the religious discrimination laws, among other issues.

Prior to joining Hope, Jefferson interned at Southern Cross Austereo in Gosford, and the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA). He’s been drawn to journalism by a passion to dispel misinformation, and to reflect truth and Christ in his work.
