Last week the NASA Voyager 1 became the first ever spacecraft to leave the solar system. Launched back in 1977, and travelling at 17 kilometres per second, the probe has travelled more than 19 billion kilometres, further than any spacecraft has gone before.
Dr Fred Watson is the Astronomer-in-Charge at the Australian Astronomical Observatory, near Coonabarabran, and he’s helped to take astronomy to the masses. He’s an authority on all things space-related and even has an asteroid named after him!
Dr Fred was in Sydney last week talking about his latest book, Star Craving Mad. He caught up with Hope Mornings to answer some big (and not-so-big) questions about the universe.
