Sculpture by the Sea is one of Australia’s most high profile public art events.   The event’s future has been in doubt in recent years due to financial troubles, but thankfully the show will go on.

Like the Archibald Prize, Sculpture by the Sea brings art to the masses.  Part of the intention of Founding Director David Handley was a desire to promote Australian artists to the world, all against the backdrop of Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach.  In the era of Instagram and facebook, when photos can be uploaded instantly, it’s a spectacular viral publicity machine.
