Colson has also experienced public humiliation – being the first person jailed in relation to the Watergate scandal of 1974. His life changed just before entering prison with a personal discovery of Christian faith, and since that time he has founded Prison Fellowship Ministries – the largest outreach to convicts, victims of crime and justice officers in the world – and applies his significant intellect to comment on political and spiritual issues of the day from the Christian worldview.
His many books include Born Again, Loving God, The Good Life and How Now Shall We Live.
