At the age of 21, Donald Miller left his Texan home to travel. He’d run out of money by the time he reached Oregon and has lived there ever since.

His first book didn’t sell many copies. His second book became a publisher’s dream. That book, Blue Like Jazz, sold over 1 million copies and has made Miller a Christian celebrity.

More books have followed, plus a movie deal. And the latest book, A Million Miles in a Thousand Years, is clever—it tells the story of turning Blue Like Jazz into that film script.
