Have you ever considered what Christmas Day is like for those of us who are living rough? Not everyone has a place to be safe and merry but we can be part of trying to change that this year.
Key points:
- “It’s important that we don’t turn our backs on the lost and lonely in the community,” The Jeremiah Project’s Jacky Turano said, particularly of this time of year.
- We’re excited to join with The Jeremiah Project to help make sure everyone in Sydney feels the love of Jesus this Christmas.
- Please leave donations for The Jeremiah Project’s Christmas Hope Appeal at Hope Media’s reception between 9am and 5pm, from Wednesday 3 to Thursday 18 December.

For The Jeremiah Project’s founding CEO Jacky Turano, this is the kind of thing that keeps her awake at night.
It all started during a particularly cold Sydney winter when Jacky decided to use her birthday gift to purchase beanies and blankets to donate to a local homeless shelter.
This was her first step into the world of ministry, the pieces all came together, her heart was awakened, and she knew exactly what she wanted to create and provide for the homeless communities.
Here in this defining moment, the vision was clear, and The Jeremiah Project was born.
“It’s important that we don’t turn our backs on the lost and lonely in the community,” The Jeremiah Project’s Jacky Turano said.
About The Jeremiah Project
The Jeremiah Project is a ministry helping those in need across Sydney and particularly those who are homeless. With a community of committed volunteers, the organisation’s focus is not on food alone but the extension of love and compassion, healing hearts and transforming lives from the inside out.
“It’s important that we don’t turn our backs on the lost and lonely in the community,” Jacky said, particularly of this time of year.
“Walking beside them allows them to believe in themselves.”
