Bill & Bev’s Very Merry Christmas

Every year at Christmas time, the talented folks of Hopeland put their creative minds together and create a story that shares the meaning of Christmas—in the form of a good old-fashioned radio drama.

This year we present Bill & Bev’s Very Merry Christmas, the tale of a very loveable couple named – wait for it – Bill & Bev.

The pair live a simple life and have always celebrated Christmas in a simple way. Their neighbour Mrs. Jones, however, eagerly flaunts her wealth through snobbery and excessive spending.

Bill, watching Mrs. Jones’ spending, is enticed by the idea of owning more ‘things’ to celebrate Jesus’ birth.

After an ill-fated late night shopping endeavour, an argument over nativity sets and Christmas Trees, and dealing with a sly salesperson named Raymond, Bev storms off.

On her way home she meets a homeless woman, Sally, who challenges her perspective on neighbourly love. Somehow Bill and Bev’s chaotic Christmas Eve becomes a very merry Christmas indeed.
