Australian agronomist Tony Rinaudo has been called “The Tree Whisperer” and “The Forest Maker“.
Such grand titles sit awkwardly with the humble, passionate scientist from Victoria. But Tony doesn’t reject such ways of describing the incredible sustainability work he has been involved with.
Those cool nicknames flow from Tony’s work in Niger. After years of frustration and no results at reforesting arid areas, he rediscovered an ancient technique.
This has led to the regreening of about 18 million hectares across 26 African nations.
Hope Mornings spoke with Tony about his recently released autobiography, The Forest Underground. The Principal Climate Advisor for World Vision spoke about the work he has done for our world – and how his faith compels him to soldier on for climate action.
