Good morning.
As we head into another day, just remember the most important thing in your life is your relationship with God.
Don’t ever think that it’s just a little sideline thing that you can take or leave. It is the big thing of your life. God is the centre of this universe. He is the originator of everything that is. He is the one who is actively sustaining your life, who’s given you another day to live today, and He’s the one who at the end every person will be accountable to for their lives.
Have you learned to walk with God in your life? Have you ever thought about what would make your life really meaningful and give it significance? Do you know that significance will never come apart from a living relationship with God?
If you’ve never started on a living relationship with God, you may have been religious or you may never have been religious, but that’s not what I mean. I’m talking about knowing God personally.
And you know there’s a big problem between us and God that keeps us from knowing Him personally. We can know about Him, we can read the Bible, but that’s not knowing Him personally.
We have two main problems between us and God. One is that God is the judge of this universe, and we have broken His moral laws so many times, things we knew in our heart we shouldn’t do, and we’ve done them anyway, almost every day.

And this weight of moral guilt stands between us and the righteous Judge of the universe.
And secondly, we’ve got a personal problem that we’ve offended God so many times when He’s reached out to us in our lives and we’ve just pushed Him away and said, not interested, not important to me right now, not relevant to my life.
That offends God personally.
And so we’ve got this big barrier between us and God. But do you know that Jesus Christ, who never sinned and never deserved to face God’s judgement chose because of His love for you and me to stand in our place and take God’s judgement for us.
So when he died on the cross, he was paying the penalty for your sin and my sin.
And we can simply receive what he is offering to us as a gift, forgiveness from God. Simply by saying thank you for what He’s done for us and trusting God to accept what Jesus did as forgiveness for our sins, and you know, when God the Father looks at what Jesus did for us, His anger also just melts away.
And so we have this open door to a loving relationship with God. How foolish we would be to ignore such an offer from the God of the universe to forgive us of all of our moral failures. And to also take away his anger towards us.
If you’ve never done that, you can do it simply by praying, and praying is simply talking to God. You can do it out loud, or you can just do it like you think to yourself, either way He hears you, and just express to Him, Thank you God, for what you’ve done for me. I don’t deserve it, but I receive it with real gratitude. I want to start a whole new way of life in personal relationship with you.
Do you know, your life changes completely when you do that, and you have the potential now to live a life that brings to fruition the potential that’s in it from God. God has entrusted your life to you, and He expects you to in turn use what is His.
In a way that will bring him pleasure and glory.
And so you need to think about what you could do with your life even today that would honour God.
I’m John North.
