A festive – and free – activity to do with family and friends in the lead up to Christmas is to drive or walk around streets and suburbs of Sydney where homeowners have gone all out and lit up their homes like a Christmas tree.
There may already be a Christmas lights’ location you visit annually but if you don’t know where to head then here are just a handful of the places to enjoy a lovely summer’s evening stroll, in no particular order.
The City
Martin Place Christmas Tree
The tallest Christmas tree in NSW is decorated with more than 100,00 lights and baubles.
Canopy of Lights
Pitt Street is a great spot for Christmas shopping but also harbours a spectacular canopy light display.
St Mary’s Cathedral
This stunning cathedral also boasts stunning visual effects and lights display accompanied by the talented Christmas Choir.
Quakers Hill
Several streets in Quakers Hill have had amazing displays of Christmas lights from whole streets to lights synced to music.
