On Saturday November 1, Hopeland decended on the Hope 103.2 studios, and we had a ball!
Key points:
- “You help instill God in [my children’s] daily lives, and as they walk into school, they have God on their minds,” said one Hopelander.
- “We are long-term listeners to the station, so it was great being able to see where all the wonderful work happens.”
- We have the kindest listeners, and it’s really special that Hope is a community of people who all want to see our city impacted in a positive way.
- 700+ food items were donated to Hands & Feet – thank you Hopeland!
The weather was a little temperamental (ok, maybe the rain was torrential at times) but it didn’t dampen the festival-like mood.
With giveaways, a petting zoo, delicious food and coffee, facepainting, a kids zone as well as a 360-photo booth, photo ops with presenters and the live stage featuring live podcast recordings, interviews and performances, the atmosphere was buzzing.
“You help instill God in my children’s daily lives”
“My kids really enjoyed themselves and have been so excited to share their experience with their friends,” said one Hopelander.
“You help instill hope, joy and the grace of God in their daily lives, and as they get out of the car each morning and walk into school, they have God on their minds.
“This then filters into the school and they share the message of Jesus there.”

“It was great being able to see where all the wonderful work happens”
“I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed coming to the Hope Open Day on the weekend,” said another family.

“Hope is such an important part of our days and we are so fortunate to have a station like this to listen to.
“Physically hearing Christian voices and messages regularly is just so very inspiring!”
Receiving messages like these and the many others you’ve sent through make all the difference to all of us here at Hope 103.2.

The rain couldn’t stop us!
Hope Afternoons’ Laura Bennett particularly loved meeting families.
“The kids love the station so much, and were so excited to meet the people they hear every day on the way to school!” she said.
“The rain couldn’t stop us! We have the kindest listeners, and it’s really special that Hope is a community of people who all want to see our city impacted in a positive way.
“My highlight was getting to see our listeners face-to-face and meet so many who’d never been to the station before.”

Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus
You were so generous, bringing 700+ donations for Hands and Feet, a non-profit community service to people in need.
“We really appreciate the invitation and felt blessed to be a part of the big day!” said Hands & Feet’s Titilia Brown.
“We were humbled by the generosity and support of your listeners.”
Thank you for being part of something special. You helped feed over 3,000 families through local churches this Christmas.

“Hope 103.2 makes me feel closer to God”
“It’s been interesting to come check out Hope and what they get up to,” Andrew told Ben McEachen on Saturday.
“I loved the studio tour, it was probably one of the most interesting things…. we got to meet yourself, [and] Anita Savage doing the news.”
Andrew has been a Hope 103.2 listener for 2.5 years.
“It makes me feel like I’m closer to God,” he said, when Ben asked why he’d “stuck around”.
“Having that connection there, which I don’t think you get with many other stations.”
And really, that’s what it’s all about!
Thank you, Hopeland. See you next time!
