Angeline spent years being frustrated by her husband listening to Hope 103.2. While he was a committed Christian, Angeline didn’t have a relationship with God.
Key points:
- Angeline berated her husband for years, listening to Hope 103.2 in the car.
- “I’m lying in hospital, feeling lost, and that’s when I felt God’s presence in the room.”
- “It all started, even with myself not even knowing, all those years ago, with Julian playing Hope 103.2.
“My husband Julian has been listening to Hope 103.2 for a long time, more than ten years – before I became a born-again Christian,” Angeline said.
“Every time I would get into the car and I would find that Hope 103.2 was on, I would get quite irritated and berate him because he had the audacity to have that channel on, because I was listening to other channels.
“I spent a lot of my career chasing titles and chasing promotions and so on… doing good work, but [it] really didn’t fulfil me.”
Eventually, Angeline left her “toxic work environment” and unfortunately ended up with anxiety and PTSD… as well as a breast cancer diagnosis.
“[When] I got diagnosed with breast cancer, I felt lost, I did not know what to do,” she said.
“I’m lying in hospital, feeling lost, and that’s when I felt God’s presence in the room.”
“When they wheeled me into this little room next to the surgery to prepare me, I was just overcome with fear.
“I just wasn’t sure what was going to happen to me, whether I would actually even wake up from the general anaesthetic, whether the operation would be successful.

“I was also berating myself that I wasn’t even taking the advice that [I’ve] given my clients to update their wills… [all the] legal things you would normally do. I didn’t do any of that.
“So, I’m lying on this bed, in hospital, feeling fairly lost, and that’s when I felt God’s presence in the room.
“He came and met with me, and all the fear, all the anxiety left, and I was just overcome by his love, [I] had peace.”
“It all started, even with myself not even knowing, all those years ago, with Julian playing Hope 103.2.”
In that moment, Angeline says she knew that God had healed her and that everything would be okay.
And when her husband came to pick her up, she wasn’t angry with him for his choice of radio station.
“I stepped into the car and Hope 103.2 was playing and I didn’t feel the need to change channels,” she said.
“I was so happy to listen to worship music, and now that I knew the Lord again, had my encounter with him, I just wanted to praise Him and worship Him.
“I haven’t stopped, and I continue to listen to worship music.”
These days, Angeline’s husband has no trouble finding her.
“Julian finds me normally quite easily when he hears worship music playing in different parts of the house, because I normally have it, playing quite loudly!” she said.
“It all started, even with myself not even knowing, all those years ago, with Julian playing Hope 103.2.
“The seeds of salvation were being planted, even back then.”
