As you go about your everyday life; dropping the kids at school, grabbing that coffee on the way to work, driving by that construction site, stopping by that fruit and vege shop – could it be that you are rubbing shoulders with slaves?
Sounds an incredible thought. This is Australia, not India or Pakistan. The truth is each year an estimated 800,000 men, women and children are trafficked across the globe. And Australia is one of the countries they’re being sent to.
Jenny Stanger has spent the last 11 years reaching out to victims of human trafficking, and founding organisations to abolish slavery both here and in LA.
Currently she runs a Salvation Army safe house for such victims in Sydney. We can make a profound difference in this horror story, and Jenny’s the one to tell us how.
Audio – Modern day slavery is more common than you think. Jenny Stanger tells us how we can make a difference.
