Imagine travelling to the other side of the world to attend a science camp, only to find yourself at a competitive soccer camp.

This is the story of Back of the Net, a brand new Australian movie hitting cinemas this week. Science student Corey Bailey (played by Disney Channel star Sofia Wiley) finds herself needing to pick up some soccer skills very quickly, while facing opposition from superstar player Edie, played by Australian actor Tiarnie Coupland.

Tiarnie is no stranger to our screens – she was nominated for the Best New Talent Logie in 2017 for her turn as Maggie in Love Child, and also starred in ABC’s The Worst Year of My Life Again. Hope 103.2’s Sam and Duncan caught up with Tiarnie Coupland to chat about the movie, hear what it was like playing a bully character like Edie, as well as the important message Back of the Net shares for young girls.
