As we dust off our speedos and gear up for another hot summer, these are the best beaches (as voted by you, Hopeland) to check out in Sydney.
Clovelly Beach
Located in Randwick Council this unique little beach is a fun destination in summertime. Unusual because the sandy part of the beach is quite small, but there is a huge amount of space to stretch out. With a lap pool and plenty of picnic amenities this is a fun beach. Bring your snorkel there is plenty to see underwater! Get there early, because parking can be tricky in peak times. Make a plan to stick around for a while because there’s plenty to do.

Clontarf Beach
This little gem sits opposite the Spit. It has a wonderful playground and reserve area. The water is sheltered which means there are very little waves. Clontarf is a play haven for little kids, and has great first-time adventure snorkelling for the water babies. Good facilities and even though it gets really busy, there is a fair bit of parking. Added bonus if you have a fur-baby, there is a great dog beach down one end so they can take a swim. The only thing to watch is typically after heavy storms they’ll close the beach because the water can get a bit of pollution.

Reef Beach
It isn’t Manly, it isn’t Shelly Beach- its Reef beach! You’ll have to take Dobroyd Scenic Drive to get here and then it’s a short little walk. This is a little secluded beach and if you are over the crowds at Manly, this beach is well worth a look.

Collins Beach
Just between little Manly Cove and North Head is another beach called Collins Flat Beach. Veer through the stone arch and head down Collins Beach Road. You’ll discover a fun sheltered beach, with a few less people but no less pretty. Just another option when Manly gets too much.

Check out Mona Vale for plenty of parking and a fun park for the kids. If you want to head a little further south, Warriewood is a great beach. You can park up the top and enjoy a stair walk down and burn some calories before you hit the beach.
Southside
Tamarama sits on the Bondi to Coogee walk, and it isn’t as busy as Bondi. It’s a very pretty bay beach. Also, Bronte is North of Clovelly and is well worth checking out if you are looking for a little more beach than bay, and an alternative high-end coffee before you hit the sand.
