Key points:

  • If you’re not familiar with the original story by Agatha Christie then this play will keep you guessing until the end.
  • A veteran Australian cast

And Then There Were None from the master of mystery herself Agatha Christie will not disappoint.

Based on the novel by Agatha Christie, it’s a masterfully crafted mystery that keeps viewer on edge from start to finish. The story follows 10 individuals who are invited to a secluded island under various pretenses. As they settle in, they realise their mysterious host is absent. Soon, a chilling nursery rhyme hints at their fate, and one by one, they start to disappear. Suspicion mounts as paranoia grips the guests — who among them is orchestrating this sinister game?

Exploring themes of justice, guilt, and the psychological toll of isolation, And Then There Were None is one of Christie’s most brilliant and unsettling works. As the name reveals, you’re left with none by the end night — that is no surprise — but if you’re not familiar with the famous story then how you get there will keep you guessing until the very end.

While we wouldn’t agree with the one character who is portrayed as the “Christian of the group” as it’s a version of Christian living devoid of compassion, grace and mercy, it is easy to see the point Christie is making through this character and the comment on life at the time: the hypocrisy and harm of not practicing what you preach is far-reaching beyond the fate of your own life.

In addition to the captivating mystery, this show is a highlight due to the talented Australian cast including Nicholas Hammond (General Mackenzie), Jennifer Flowers (Emily Brent), Peter O’Brien (William Blore), Grant Prio (Rogers), Christen O’Leary (Mrs Rogers) and Grant Piro (as Rodgers). Each character plays a crucial part in the novel’s suspenseful unraveling. The tensions between them and their hidden pasts make the story an unforgettable watch!

You’ll also find yourself enchanted by Dale Ferguson’s set and costume design, which become characters of their own, as we follow the 10 guests through their stay on Soldier Island off the coast of Devon, England.

And Then There Were None ends with the famous Christie request: as a viewer of the show, you will keep its secret… so, no spoilers here!
