Good morning. I’m John North, and I’m here to help you start your day right as we come to the end of this work week. Let’s go into this final day, not just trying to make it through to the weekend, but looking for what God has to say to us and what God has to do through us today.
God loves you and God wants to speak to you right now through His Word.
And God wants you to learn to take time with Him every day, listening to Him.
Speaking to Him, responding to what He’s saying to you, God wants to be at the centre of your life because God is the supreme being. He is at the centre of this universe. Life is about Him, not about you.
And when you learn to put him at the centre of your life, all of life comes together.

We’re looking this week at the theme of God’s voice in our lives, and today we come to a passage in Luke chapter 10.
Starting in verse 25, it says:
And behold, a certain expert in the Jewish law stood up and put Jesus to the test, saying, Teacher. What shall I do to inherit eternal life?
Jesus said to him, Well, what is written in the law? How does it read to you?
And he answered and said – You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and your neighbour as yourself.
And Jesus said to him, you have answered correctly. Do this and you will live.
Well, there’s lots of things about that passage to think about.
But the big thing about it is this: God tells us in this passage what matters to Him the most, and what matters to God the most in your life is that you love Him with all your being.
Just think of all the commands of the Bible.
As you read through the Bible, you see that God takes His commands very seriously, that the consequences He brings into people’s lives who ignore what He asks them to do are very severe.
And yet in spite of how seriously God takes every command, none of those commands matters to God as much as this one. Expressing God’s heart desire for you. That you would love God with all your soul and strength and mind.
You know this beautiful command comes with a promise as well. And this promise is yours for the taking.
Have you ever had a time in your life when you loved God with every fibre of your being?
Wouldn’t you love to get back to those days?
If you’d never had a time like that, wouldn’t you like to start today?
God is already loving you that way with every fibre of His being.
And he wants you to respond with that kind of love back to him as well.
God loves you.
Make it the aim of your life to love him with everything in you as well.
I’m John North.
