In this episode of the Hope Book Club, Katrina Roe and Natasha Moore travel the world from North Carolina, to the Camino in Spain, finally winding up in the Australian outback.
In this episode they review:
- Everything Happens for a Reason and Other Lies I’ve Loved, by Kate Bowler
- Two Steps Forward by Graeme Simsion and Anne Buist
- The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart by Holly Ringland
Everything Happens for a Reason and Other Lies I’ve Loved is Kate Bowler’s New York Times best-selling exploration of her own mortality after being diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Kate Bowler is an academic at Duke Divinity School with special interest in the Prosperity Gospel, which colours and informs her work.
Two Steps Forward is the latest fiction offering from the author of the super popular The Rosie Project, series. Graeme Simsion wrote Two Steps Forward with his wife Anne Buist – it’s about two people walking The Camino from France to Spain.
And finally Katrina reviews The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart by Holly Ringland, a botanically themed Aussie novel about finding your voice after experiencing family and partner violence.
Plus Katrina and Natasha share their literary inadequacies, confessing those books they haven’t read, but feel they should have.
