From shows that were sidelined after one episode (Charlie’s Angels), to films that drew in mega box-office bucks (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2), it’s certainly been an eclectic year of entertainment when we look back at the books, films, and TV of 2011. 

But, as guinea pigs subject to the experiments of the cultural artists amongst us, have we ended up better off? Or, have we suffered at the hands of one-too-many mad scientists?
