People and Culture Manager

Part-Time Position

The Opportunity:

Because of significant ministry growth and our partnership with Brisbane’s Christian radio station 96five, Hope Media is seeking to appoint a senior HR professional, who will provide the essential ‘hands-on’ HR leadership across all aspects of the operations. This position will be part-time, minimum of 25 hours a week with the opportunity to extend for the right candidate.

Our new People and Culture Manager will be ready to focus on:

  • the development and implementation of an organisation-wide HR plan
  • ensuring continuous improvement in staff recruitment and induction processes
  • processing employee contracts and maintaining an HRIS
  • the creation and management of ongoing training plans
  • driving cultural enhancement and employee engagement
  • connecting HR initiatives to ministry goals
  • support the organisation through positive structural and cultural changes
  • working collaboratively with the management team to provide coaching and advice on employee relations matters and
  • ensuring compliance with legislation and relevant regulatory bodies, including the tightening of HR policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • a willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of Hope Media
  • relevant tertiary qualifications in human resource management or equivalent
  • significant experience in senior or similar HR roles
  • the ability to establish strong relationships with all levels within the organisation
  • exceptional leadership and project management skills
  • working knowledge of all relevant legislation and practices
  • excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • proven accuracy and attention to detail
  • demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, along with enthusiasm to learn new systems and
  • a willingness to travel.

News Director

Full-Time Position

The Opportunity:

Hope Media is Sydney’s leading Christian media organisation. We are the parent company of Hope 103.2 on FM, Inspire Digital on DAB+ and Hope Online.

Hope Media is about to launch its own unique news service in Sydney. As the newly appointed Hope Media News Director, your extensive professional experience and personal faith values will play an instrumental role in the editorial policies, style and staffing of this brand new service.

We are now inviting applications from an experienced radio journalist with a passion for assisting in recruiting and leading a team of news professionals.

Our News Director will be ready to:

  • direct the gathering and production of news content on-air and online from a Christian world-view perspective
  • prepare and present daily in a key shift
  • supervise and oversee training of News Room personnel, including trainees
  • lead the use of digital tools to enhance news gathering and dissemination
  • ensure the accuracy of news programs
  • prepare and write stories according to prescribed editorial style and format standards
  • interact with Hope Media Management in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and long-range planning
  • participate in the development and management of annual operating budgets.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • a commitment to and willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values, and the Statement of Faith of Hope Media Ltd
  • a Bachelor’s degree, with a major in communication or journalism desirable
  • at least 10 years of experience in a similar role
  • a demonstrated ability to take the initiative and complete tasks to a high standard
  • the aptitude to supervise and train employees and volunteers, to include organising, prioritising, and scheduling work assignments
  • knowledge of on-air and online techniques/procedures, protocols, and standards
  • competency to make broadcast programming decisions within defined parameters
  • knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations and protocols relating to the delivery of news and public affairs content, as well as statutory and regulatory obligations that apply to community radio stations
  • skill in the use of journalistic research and methods and techniques
  • knowledge of editorial and ethical standards for the research and development of journalistic articles and/or presentations
  • the proficiency in working under pressure and meet deadlines
  • completed Theological studies; desirable but not essential.

Radio Program Director

Full-Time Position

The Opportunity:

Hope Media is Sydney’s leading Christian media organisation. We are the parent company of Hope 103.2 on FM, Inspire Digital on DAB+ and Hope Online.

The search is now on for a talented and dynamic Radio Program Director to work closely with our General Manager to oversee the daily operations of the radio station, including oversight of music policy, on-air tactics, talent air-checking and managing the station’s shows.

Our new Radio Program Director will be ready to:

  • lead our team of professional broadcasters to create fun, faith-based, engaging content on-air
  • build a fiercely loyal and active audience
  • execute station strategies
  • be an active and contributing member of the station’s Content Leadership Team and
  • step in on-air with confidence when needed
  • coach and train volunteer presenters.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • PD experience as or equivalent leadership role within a radio station; (5 years minimum)
  • a Christian faith and missionary heart for our listeners
  • a passion for creating engaging content that connects with our listeners
  • extensive on-air experience (10 years)
  • experience in studio playout systems (Zetta/Nexgen or equivalent)
  • proficient panelling, computer and internet skills; (Hope uses AXIA desks and Microsoft systems)
  • excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • exceptional time management skills and
  • a firm belief in the mission and values of Hope Media.

We’re looking for an outstanding individual to join our team in a Sales Executive role. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a self-starter with experience in sales, and/or marketing related areas.

The Sales Executive is responsible for identifying and developing new on-air sponsorship revenue from businesses, advertising agencies and not for profit organisations. A generous remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate.

The Essentials:

  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable with cold calling
  • Proven organisation, computer and online skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience in sales and/or marketing
  • Competent in CRM utilisation and reporting

The Desirables:
