The singer-songwriter and Hope 103.2 Mornings presenter has joined Hillsong Young & Free to become one of only two Aussie artists to go to #1 on the TCM chart, with their debut singles. Y&F achieved it first in August 2013 with “Alive”. (TCM has been researching Australian Christian radio playlist data since 1999.)
On the night of its release, Skinny Roads debuted at #1 on itunes’ inspirational chart.
Emma said she was overwhelmed with how her single had been received and couldn’t wait to release the rest of her songs on her pop-worship EP, due out in September. “I’ve been totally blown away by both the success and support for Skinny Roads,” she said. “I can’t thank everyone enough.”
While Emma’s excited about the milestone, her children Hosannah and Jeremiah are less interested, as a recent Instagram video reveals (below).
The Story Behind The Song – Skinny Roads
In the video below, Emma chats about the meaning behind the song, and gives a very personal insight into her walk with God and the things she believes He is calling her to do.
Skinny Roads is about following God’s call, something Emma has had to think about a lot, as she and her husband Terrence feel called to one day plant a church in Miami, where Terrence once lived.
