Listen: Catholic Health Australia's Dr Anthony Gooley chats to Ray Kington on delivering "trust-based care" to those who need it most, in this pandemic world
In his message, he expressed his spiritual closeness and reassured all the poor and marginalised of the Church’s loving concern for them.
Catholic Health Australia’s Dr Anthony Gooley said it’s more vital than ever to heed the central message of World Day of the Sick and deliver “trust-based care” during the pandemic.
He spoke to Hope 103.2 about what needs to happen and how we go about providing this type of care.
“What The Pope is calling us to reflect on is that there’s a broader solidarity that we’ve become aware of through the pandemic, and Australia has done very well in terms of managing the virus but we live in a global community and we’ve been exposed now to a sense of solidarity in a way that we haven’t seen before and I think that global sense of solidarity is being tested now with the way we manage the virus,” Dr Gooley said.
