Some call it a Eureka moment. Agricultural Scientist Tony Rinaudo calls it a miraculous insight from God.

It was the moment when this young World Vision aid worker, frustrated by constant failure in trying to re-green the African desert, noticed green shoots sprouting from supposedly dead tree roots.

He certainly was praying for answers about how to turn a degraded landscape into productive land.

But the answer came when he least expected it — attending to tyre pressure on World Vision’s 4WD.

What happened next changed the landscape and lives for the better. It is rightly described as a miracle in the desert.

Tony Rinaudo’s story is also a fantastic metaphor for life. Working with, rather than against God, yields the best results in agriculture and in our lives.
