What would you do if you were down to your last few dollars? Would washing your clothes be a priority?
Most of us consider washing our clothes a necessity but for many experiencing homelessness that necessity becomes an unaffordable luxury. That is where Orange Sky Laundry steps in.
Orange Sky has two simple missions: free laundry and good conversation – and, one load at a time, they are changing the lives of people across the country. Operating a mobile laundry service out of bright orange vans, they can be seen at 35 locations across metropolitan and regional Australia – completing over 1600 loads of laundry a week.
However, beyond the simple act of washing clothes is the opportunity for connection – which is what Orange Sky CEO Lucas Pratchett says is making the real difference across the nation.
