On Saturday, October 22, a four-hour Women’s Preaching Marathon is on at St Luke’s Anglican Church, Concord.

One dozen female speakers – 12 sermons back-to-back.

The Women’s Preaching Marathon has been organised by Christians for Biblical Equality (CBE).

Even if you don’t attend an Anglican church in Sydney, you may know the issue of women preaching has been debated and contentious for some time, as it is in other Christian communities.

Hope Mornings spoke with Nicky Lock from CBE, as well as Di Morgan and Vanessa Morgan, two of the ministers speaking at the Women’s Preaching Marathon.

Nicky told Hope Mornings about the controversy surrounding women preaching, as well as the 100-year anniversary that prompted the Marathon.

Di and Vanessa shared what they will be preaching on and their hopes for the event’s impact.
