Sydney School Chaplain Draws on Years of Experience to Help Youth Find Their Identity

When you are going through primary or high school, issues of identity can consume us. They also can explode and set up a lifetime of confusion or dissatisfaction.

School chaplain and author Chris Morphew wants to help young people find their identity.

His latest book, Who Am I and Why Do I Matter?, draws on years of experience with students at PLC in Croydon, Sydney.

He believes he has found the answers they seek, and the answers are not found in sexuality, success, beauty, academic prowess or sporting achievement. Or followers on social media.

Instead, Chris told Hope Mornings how identity issues are resolved through identifying the only one who has brought abundant life to our world – Jesus.

So how can the ancient figure of Jesus offer “the best answers” to modern identity problems when there is so much about growing up in 2022 that Jesus didn’t have to deal with?
