Hello. My job is to help you put God first in your life. One of the biggest ways that you can ever move ahead in your relationship with God, in your spiritual life is to spend time with God. Relationships grow with time together, and you’re in a living relationship with God, and you must spend time with Him if you want to grow closer and closer to Him.
If you’re struggling in your life, in your inner life, if there’s pain and emotional hurdles that you don’t feel like you can get across, you need to know that only God can walk with you through those hurdles. Only God can meet you at your point of deepest need in your life.
We’re looking this week at the theme of overcoming emotional hurdles, and do you know that one of the foundational bedrock issues in overcoming the emotional struggles of life is coming to terms with who you are in God’s eyes, with what God really thinks of you.
In John chapter 6, verse 37, Jesus said, All that the Father gives me shall come to me, and the one who comes to me, I will certainly not cast out.
That’s you.
If you come to Jesus Christ for His help, His ministry in your life, He will certainly not cast you out. If you come to Him recognising that the problems between you and Him are because of the sin in your life, and you don’t hide behind that sin and say, Well, I can’t go to God because of it, no, you bring it openly and say, God, I know I’ve offended you so horribly, so deeply, but I need your forgiveness. I need your cleansing, and then I need your miraculous work in my life because I can’t turn to anyone else.
The one who comes to me, He says, I will certainly not cast out.
So often things you’ve been told ever since you were a child tell you you’re worthless or tell you you’ll never amount to anything or no one could ever like you. All of those inner feelings will mount up when you think about God accepting you, and you will feel like there’s no way God could accept me. No one could ever love me, but you have to recognise those feelings are not fact.

And one of the most important keys to opening the door and escaping the prison that your feelings are holding you in is acknowledging with your mind that your self-worth is not based on those feelings, it’s based on what Jesus Christ thinks of you. Remember, He is God.
He is at the centre of this universe. He defines all reality, and He says that you are so valuable to Him. He died on the cross for you to bring you into His family. And if you come to Him at any time in order to trust in Him for the first time and find forgiveness of your sins and become a child of God, or as one of His children coming to Him for forgiveness and renewal in your spiritual life. And just for His love and companionship and fellowship.
The one who comes to me, he says, I will certainly not cast out.
If you want out of the prison of your feelings, you must acknowledge. I encourage you to say it out loud right now.
God loves me and accepts me. Because of what Jesus did for me. God loves me.
Can you say that out loud right now?
