Ken Duncan: Come and See the Giant Cross in the Outback

First Nations Christians, in the heart of the land now called Australia, are putting a giant cross atop Memory Mountain (about three hours west of Alice Springs).

For many years, well-known Australian artist Ken Duncan has been spending time with Indigenous communities in this remote area.

Duncan’s Walk A While Foundation has supported local jobs and initiatives, including helping with fundraising and logistics for an ambitious display of Christian faith.

With the huge illuminated cross being erected, Duncan spoke with Hope Afternoons about this distinct tourist attraction.

He explains why local people wanted it and why we all should make the trip to see it.
