Convoy of Hope and Airbnb providing NSW Emergency Accommodation

Convoy of Hope has partnered with Airbnb to provide up to 14 days of emergency accommodation for families left homeless due to the current flood emergency.

Availability is limited and you must fill out Convoy of Hope and Airbnb’s Emergency Accommodation Application form to be considered.

The accommodation is available to any NSW location suffering flooding including Manning Great Lakes area, Taree, Port Macquarie, etc.

The form is managed by Christian Media & Arts Australia (CMAA) on behalf of Christian radio stations across the region.

Due to the devastating flooding in the Manning Great Lakes area near Taree in NSW, Convoy of Hope Australia has mobilised to provide emergency relief to affected communities — including a partnership with Airbnb.

Convoy of Hope Oceania Regional Leader Joel A’Bell shared with CMAA ceo Nathan Brown that the not-for-profit has partnered with the worldwide leader in accommodation Airbnb to help families who have now found themselves homeless, as a result of the “one-in-500-year flood event”.

“Torrential rains have inundated towns across the Mid North Coast, including Taree, Kempsey, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour. The Manning River in Taree has surpassed its 1929 record levels, leading to widespread evacuations and isolating entire communities,” a Convoy of Hope statement said.

“Over 50,000 residents have been advised to prepare for evacuation or face potential isolation, with more than 9500 homes at risk. Emergency services have conducted over 500 rescues, including dramatic airlifts of stranded individuals and families.

Tragically, two lives have been lost, and authorities hold grave concerns for others still missing.”

Convoy of Hope “work through churches, businesses, government agencies and other nonprofits to provide hlep and hope to those who are impoverished, hungry and hurting,” their website states.

CMAA’s Nathan Brown said “availability is limited, so please fill out the form to make an application”.

“Verified applications will be contacted ASAP and connected with Airbnb for final verification,” he siad.

“Successful applications will be provided with up to 14 days of Airbnb credits to use at available Airbnb properties.”
