There is no shortage of free and fun-filled events all over Sydney for you to choose from. Here are some ideas of places to visit with your friends and family this long weekend.
Sydney
When the Sydney Festival is on, there is plenty to do in the city. You can find live entertainment, delicious foods and attractions around Darling Harbour, The Rocks and Circular Quay. Begin your morning by watching the Wugulora Indigenous Morning Ceremony at Barangaroo. The dancing involved in this performance is considered one of the world’s oldest surviving cultural traditions.
Northern Beaches
If you prefer to soak up the summer sun at one of Sydney’s beautiful northern beaches, then heading out to Newport Beach might be for you. Australia Day celebrations include a barbecue breakfast, live music and rides at the nearby reserve.
