Have you started your day with God yet?
You need to learn to begin your day by greeting God.
When you wake up in the morning, when you get in the shower, whenever you become alert, say good morning, Lord.
And begin your daylong conversation with God.
Talk to him about your day, about your life, about your relationships, about your challenges, about your struggles, about your sins, your sense of guilt, your inadequacy, your fears about the things that you have to do or that you have to face. Bring them all to God. God will meet you at every turn and will be involved in your life.
If you feel like that’s a little foreign to you, that you don’t know God in your life, do you know that you can know God like that? You can have a personal relationship with Him.
Every one of us has a problem in our relationship with God, and that is our moral guilt. Every one of us has sinned and done things that offend God, and so God is distant from us. Our relationship with Him is broken. There’s no way for us to undo the damage that’s been done.

And so God did what needed to be done.
He became a man in the person of Jesus Christ. He died on the cross. So that there would be a way for us to be forgiven, he took the punishment for our sins that we deserved. And now we can receive God’s total forgiveness. And the removal of that barrier that’s between us in our relationship with him.
You simply need to turn to God and say, oh God, I know I’ve offended you. Thank you that you have done what needed to be done. To make a way for me to be forgiven. I receive your forgiveness. I put my trust in what you did for me at the cross. And I want to start a new way of life with you as my leader.
When you do that, God does a miracle in your heart. He changes something inside of you. And he himself enters into your life in the person of the Holy Spirit. And begins to change you in ways you could not change yourself.
Have you ever met God in that way? Have you ever started a living relationship with Him? You can!
We’re looking at Psalm 131 today. The psalmist says:
O Lord, my heart is not proud. Nor my eyes haughty. Nor do I involve myself in great matters or in things too difficult for me.
Surely I have composed and quieted my soul. Like a weaned child rests against his mother, so my soul is like a weaned child within me. O Israel, hope in the Lord from this time forth and forever.
Can you come to God like that today?
Not proud, not trying to say how good you are or that you can take care of things or you can meet the issues of your life.
You know, you can’t.
But God can, and He wants to walk through life with you. When you walk through life with God, your life is full of meaning and purpose and God’s power. God repairing your life to wholeness, to what it needs to be.
I encourage you today to turn to God. Pray to Him right now.
