Good morning. I’m here to help you start your day right. As we start it together, going to God, going to the Bible, and saying, Lord, speak to us today. We want to hear from you.
It’s so important that every day of your life you are listening to God. God wants to be involved in your life. He wants to speak into it. Are you listening today?
We’re looking at Psalm 119. We’ve been in this chapter for quite a long time, and this week we come to the end of Psalm 119. Today we’re looking at verses 161 to 168. The psalmist says:
Princes persecute me without cause. But my heart stands in awe of your words. I rejoice at your word as one who finds great spoil.
I hate and despise falsehood, but I love your law. Seven times a day. I praise you because of your righteous ordinances.
Those who love your law have great peace, and nothing causes them to stumble. I hope for your salvation, O Lord, and do your commandments.
My soul keeps your testimonies, and I love them exceedingly. I keep your precepts and your testimonies, for all my ways are before you.

Isn’t that right? All of our ways are before God.
The best thing you can do in your life is choose God’s way of life. God is with you every day of your life. He is there. He is wanting to bless your life and empower your life, and He does that as you order your life around God’s priorities, God’s way of life around God Himself and your relationship with Him. When those things are in place, the power and presence of God fill your life.
I love what the psalmist said here.
In verse 161-162 he said, My heart stands in awe of your words. I rejoice at your word as one who finds great spoil.
Do you ever stand in awe of God’s Word?
You should.
You know, it’s God’s Word that ushers us into the presence of God.
Do you want to know what God is like?
Open his Word. Read Genesis chapter 1. How he just said – Let it be. And it all was.
Read Isaiah chapter 6 as Isaiah goes into the temple and sees the Lord high and exalted. Read Revelation chapter 1 as the apostle John sees God and Jesus in His glory. Read Revelation 4 and 5 as all of creation joins in worship of God.
No better way to come into the presence of God and see Him for who He is.
Then, to come to his Word, it’s what takes us into His presence. God’s Word describes the acts of God on the behalf of people.
It helps you see how God relates to people, what to expect from God when you go to Him.
I’m often in awe of God’s Word because of how it’s put together. It’s like a treasure map of great skill and intrigue that someone has put together so that you have to really study it and know it and think about it to get the treasure. That’s the way the Bible is. I’d love to dig into the Word and find those treasures.
From God to me.
