A Company Boss on Why Overtime is Wrong

Gareth Russell is the sort of boss you may have dreamed of – co-founder and managing director of UK-based PR company Jersey Road, he has a stern word to his employees if they send emails after hours.

Gareth is such an enemy of overtime that he does not want his team to do any.

Admitting there are times when out-of-work hours are unavoidable, he believed “persistent overtime” to be either a sign of poor time management or poor team management.

Gareth spoke with Hope Mornings about why he is so anti-overtime and why he reckons we should be as well.
