Here to take some time with God together with you as we go to God’s word, the Bible, and just hear what God has to say to us. And as we do, we need to come with an attitude that says, God, I’m listening. If you have something to say to me personally, I want to hear it. I want to know that it’s from you, and I want to have a sense in my heart that God is here with me, that you love me. And so, I’m devoting this time to you.

Would you just say that to God in your heart? I’m listening. God, if you want to speak to me right now.

Well, God does love to speak to us, and our theme this week is a great theme. It’s the fact that Jesus is coming back to this earth, and we call it the second coming.

And you know, we talk about the second coming, but so many people in the world have never even heard of the first coming of Jesus Christ into this world, that God Himself, God the Son Jesus Christ, was born into this world with a miraculous birth, born of a virgin, the Virgin Mary, and that he grew up and he lived as a man on this earth, a sinless life, a perfect life.

Always obedient to God the Father.

And when it came time for him to die, he didn’t deserve to die. The wages of sin is death, the Bible says, and he had no sin.

But he chose to die in your place and mine so that there would be a way for us to come to know God personally, to have our sin problem dealt with, to find forgiveness with God.

Let me read from John 14 again and read a little bit further this time than we did yesterday. Jesus says, Let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my father’s house are many dwelling places. If it were not so, I would have told you, for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself that where I am.

There you may be also, and you know the way where I am going. Thomas said to him, Lord, we do not know where you are going. How do we know the way? Jesus said to him, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me.

So how do we find forgiveness? How do we find a way to have a healthy relationship with God in our lives? How do we find a way to restore our spiritual life, our inner life, to what it needs to be? There’s only one way. Jesus says, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father, God the Father except through me.

So if you want to find a right relationship with God, if you want to bring your inner life to a place of health and peace.

No matter what storms are surging in your life, there can be that deep peace that comes from a healthy relationship with God, God’s involvement in your life.

If you want that, you need to turn to Jesus Christ. You can do that in your heart right now.

Jesus – I’m responding to you. I know you’re there reaching out to me, and I want to respond to you. Thank you for what you have done for me. I receive your forgiveness. And I want to begin a new life in relationship with you.

God always responds to that prayer.
