St Patrick – Myth and Reality

St Patrick’s Day, 17th of March, is probably the most widely recognised Feast Day of any Saint. It’s also a day when almost anyone can lay claim to being at least a bit Irish.

The Feast Day of St Patrick is celebrated around the world with parades and events celebrating Irish culture.

There is almost a  mythical quality to Patrick. He is credited for driving the snakes out of Ireland – something that didn’t happen.

So how much of what we think we know about St Patrick is real and how much is delightful Irish legend?
