1 in 3 Aussies Thinking More About God After COVID-19

New research by McCrindle found one in three Aussies are thinking more about God as a result of the pandemic.

They found 28 per cent of people have prayed more and almost half of all Australians have thought more about the meaning of life and their own mortality.

The research also found Australians are valuing local community more than they did before the pandemic, and they see church as a key element of that.

Of those surveyed, 46 per cent agreed local churches are making a difference in their local community and a surprising number – 67 per cent – said they would attend church if personally invited by a friend or family member.

Mark McCrindle said the data is worth reflecting on.

“In this seemingly secular era, where the church is perceived by many commentators to be on the decline and culturally outdated, almost half of all young adults invited to a church service by a friend or family member would be very likely attend,” he said.
