Good morning. I’m John North, and I’m here with you every weekday morning at this time just to be that little voice in the back of your head, that reminder that says I need to start every day with some time with God.
That’s my role with you on the radio. Time with God together each weekday morning.
I hope that you make it a habit in your life, not just to listen to the radio at this time of morning, but also to open your Bible up and spend some time listening to God and responding to Him, interacting with Him.
It’ll make the biggest difference in your life of anything that I know.
We’re looking today at Psalm 125.
The psalm says:
Those who trust in the Lord are as Mount Zion which cannot be moved but abides forever. As the mountains surrounding Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever.

For the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest upon the land of the righteous. That the righteous may not put forth their hands to do wrong. Do good, O Lord, to those who are good and to those who are upright in their hearts.
But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways the Lord will lead them away with the doers of iniquity.
Peace be upon Israel.
This psalm, of course, was written for the people of Israel, and often the psalms refer to Israel as a nation.
But the prayers of Israel as a nation to God for His involvement in their lives so often reflect our own hearts cry to God for His involvement in our lives. It is such a beautiful statement at the beginning of this psalm, those who trust in the Lord.
That’s all of us who are trusting in the Lord – are as Mount Zion which cannot be moved.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever.
Are you trusting God in your life?
Do you know that when anxiety takes over in your life and worry becomes dominant. That means you’re looking at life without factoring God into the picture. You’re just thinking about your circumstances, you’re thinking about what you can do about it. You’re finding that your resources are not enough.
But remember there is God.
And as soon as you bring God into the picture and remember God’s commitment to you and you submit your life to His leadership instead of just wanting Him to bless whatever it is you want to do in your life, when you put Him in His rightful place in your life as God, as Lord of all, as the ruler of your life.
Then trust comes into the picture. And with trust comes peace.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem, the Lord surrounds His people, that is, to protect them, to take care of them.
When you submit your life to God’s leadership and you trust in Him, then God takes responsibility for the issues and circumstances of your life. And you can rest.
It doesn’t mean stop working, stop doing what you need to do, but you can have an inner rest and peace.
Because God is in your life, working on your behalf, in those situations.
I’m John North.
