RATED: The Crown is rated MA15+ for Strong Coarse Language because of certain dirty limerick in episode one … but otherwise, it’s quite passable.
AUDIENCE: Good value for adults and older teens. A good combination of historical drama, love interest and political intrigue
WHAT’S GOOD: The Crown is the most expensive Netflix original series to date – $168 million towards production, and it shows! The acting is also superb. Claire Foy is brilliant as the young queen; Matt Smith subtle and compelling as her husband, Prince Phillip
WHAT’S NOT: The occasional historical contraction for the sake of drama
SPIRITUALLY SPEAKING: Queen Elizabeth is arguably the most prominent Christian woman of the last century and the series covers this well. She constantly attests to her desire to be responsible to God for her behaviour and decisions.
RELEASE DATE: Streaming in its entirety on Netflix
